Web App Manifest Checker

Check a manifest before publishing and catch missing app settings or icon sizes.

Everything runs locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to the server.

Paste a web app manifest. The sample can be replaced with your own file contents.

Checks

Check a manifest to begin

Required fields and common icon sizes will be listed here.

The manifest stays in your browser and is not uploaded.

What it does

Review a web app manifest before deploying a site or installable web app. The checker validates names, start URL, display mode, theme colors, and 192px / 512px icons without a server.

How to use it

  1. Paste your manifest.json contents.
  2. Check the required fields and icon sizes.
  3. Copy the report for a handoff or release checklist.

Tips

  • A manifest is only one part of a progressive web app; service worker setup is not checked here.
  • Warnings are useful reminders, while errors indicate malformed JSON or a missing core field.
  • The sample is safe to replace with a real manifest because nothing leaves your browser.

FAQ

Is the manifest uploaded?

No. It is parsed entirely in your browser.

Does this test whether icons are reachable?

No. It checks the icon entries and sizes written in the manifest, not network responses.
